Overview
One of the newly open trek routes in the Annapurna region, Khopra Danda is in top trending among the trekkers. The Khopra Danda Trekking trail is connected with the Annapurna Base Camp. This is a recently build trekking trail and is exotic and unspoiled. This trekking is said to be one of the best viewpoint treks in western Nepal. You’ll have the experience of walking through rhododendron forest, Bamboo forests with the natural views of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna I, II, III and south, Machhapuchhare, Hiuchuli, Nilgiri and Lamjung Himal.
Khopra Danda Trekking route goes through Ghorepani Poon Hill that provides 360-degree sunrise views of different Himalayas and Mountains. You can see the beautiful views of Ghandruk which is a charismatic village adorned by different Buddhist monasteries and houses with unique cultures and traditions.
Khopra Danda Trekking is one of the best treks. That will fulfill your desire and gives you a memorable past after the trek. The highest elevation of this trek is Khair Lake with a height of 4,500 m. You can find different tea houses and lodges in the way of trekking. These tea houses and lodges give good service of food and accommodations. It takes around 12-14 days to trek the Khopra danda depending upon the fitness of the trekker and the routes for the trek. Here is the itinerary for the trek provided by our company.
Day by Day Itinerary
30 min from airport to hotel Bed & Breakfast 3 Star hotel or similar
After arrival in Kathmandu, you’ll be met with our representative who will help you to transfer to hotel. We’ll visit some of the historical temples on the same day. We’ll discuss the trek on the evening of the day.
Drive 6-7 hrs, Flight 25 min Bed & Breakfast 3 Star hotel or similar
After breakfast, drive to Pokhara which is 200 km from Kathmandu. We take our lunch in between this six to seven hours by bus. You can also opt for a flight which takes about 30 min, and then explore Pokhara, renowned for its scenic beauty and lakeside stays.
Drive 3 hrs, walk 4 hrs All meals [Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Tea/Coffee] Tea-House / Lodge
We’ll again drive towards Kimche the next morning. After a certain time of rest, we’ll begin our trek to Ghandruk. Ghandruk is the biggest village in the area which consists of a high majority of Gurung people and unique culture and traditions as well. We’ll stay overnight in Ghandruk.
3 hrs All meals [Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Tea/Coffee] Tea-House / Lodge
After an early morning breakfast, we’ll head towards Tadapani. Leaving the beautiful Ghandruk village behind, we’ll trek across the oak and rhododendron forests. The walk is going to be pretty awesome and comfortable with the sounds of birds and scenes of green plants in the forests. We’ll stay overnight in Tadapani.
5 hrs All meals [Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Tea/Coffee] Tea-House / Lodge
We’ll leave the trail the next morning and head towards Dobato. After two hours, we’ll arrive at Meshar Danda. We’ll continue our journey heading towards the forests and then to Dobato. We’ll stay overnight in Dobato.
4 hrs All meals [Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Tea/Coffee] Tea-House / Lodge
The next morning, we’ll hike 30 minutes towards Muldai View Point. The viewpoint gives the panoramic view of the different Himalayas such as Dhaulagiri range, Annapurna range, and Machhapuchhre. After breakfast, we’ll walk through the dense rhododendron forests towards Chistibung. We’ll stay overnight in Chistibung.
3 hrs All meals [Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Tea/Coffee] Tea-House / Lodge
On the seventh day, we’ll head to reach towards Khopra Danda. We’ll do a steady climb that will make us feel comfortable. As the area is noted for different wildlife, we should keep our eyes open. After you reach the destination, you can capture each and every moment of Danda and take photos of different natural views of Mountains and Himalayas. We’ll stay overnight in Khopra Danda
5 hrs All meals [Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Tea/Coffee] Tea-House / Lodge
After breakfast from Khopra Danda, we’ll retrace our trek back to Chistibung. The trail goes through different forests. After a lunch in Chistibung, we’ll again trek towards Swanta which is known as the inhabitant of Magar people. We’ll stay overnight in Swanta.
3 hrs All meals [Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Tea/Coffee] Tea-House / Lodge
The next day, we’ll descend towards Ghorepani through village fields and small rivers side. The place gives you an awesome view of the Dhaulagiri massif. We’ll stay overnight in Ghorepani.
4 hrs All meals [Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Tea/Coffee] Tea-House / Lodge
Early in the morning, we’ll hike towards Poon Hill through the rhododendron forests. You’ll see the spectacular views of different mountains like Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Annapurna I, II, III, IV and many more. After having breakfast and certain rest, we’ll again continue our trek towards Tikhedhunga. We’ll stay overnight in Tikhedhunga.
3 hrs walk, 1.5 hrs drive Bed & Breakfast 3 Star hotel or similar
The next day, we’ll departure towards Nayapul through the village of Birethati, Modi Khola and a new bridge to the east bank. After having lunch at Nayapul, we’ll drive back to Pokhara. We’ll stay overnight in Pokhara.
6-7 hrs Bed & Breakfast 3 Star hotel or similar
While driving from Pokhara to Kathmandu, you head up to Damauli, Dumre, Muglin and Kurintar where the Nepal's first Cable car is operated to reach to Manakamana Temple. En route, you could enjoy the mountain views, green sceneries, rice terrace fields, vegetable fields and people being engaged in their daily life activities. From Naubishe you climb up to Thankot, the gateway to capital city.
Note-You can also fly from Pokhara to Kathmandu which takes approximately 25 minutes.
30 min from hotel to airport Breakfast
The trek ends this day after a breakfast. This is the time to say goodbye for those amazing days in the trek. Our representative will help you with your final departure.
