Overview

Jomsom is also known as Dzong-sampa. It is a town that is located at the altitude of 2,700 m in the Mustang District of Nepal. The region extends the banks of the Kali Gandaki. You can find the black rocks and stones called shaligram while passing from the banks of the Kali Gandaki River. Muktinath is a religious place for Hindus and Buddhists that can be easily accessed along the routes from Jomsom. Jomsom Muktinath Trekking is one of the most exhilarating treks in the Annapurna and Mustang regions of Nepal. Located in the Muktinath Valley at an altitude of 3,710 meters, it is a sacred place for both Hindus and Buddhists. The land structure that is combined with the beautiful culture and tradition of different beautiful villages makes the trek all the more rewarding. The trek goes along the Kali Gandaki gorge that is said to be the deepest gorge on earth. You’ll get the wonderful opportunity of dipping your body into the hot spring at Tatopani.

Muktinath Temple is located in the Mustang District of Nepal. The temple is small and is considered one of the most ancient Hindu temples of God Vishnu. There is a statue of gold that is tall enough in comparison to a man. The devotees take their sacred bath in the water flowing from the 108 pipes around the temple even in freezing temperature.

The Jomsom Muktinath Trekking generally takes 10-13 days according to the physical fitness of a trekker and the route of the trek. The journey starts from Kathmandu and goes through Pokhara and trekking begins across different villages, forests along with the trail of Tikhedhunga, Ghorepani, Kagbeni, Muktinath, Jomsom and again back to Pokhara and then to Kathmandu.

Day by Day Itinerary

30 min from airport to hotel Bed & Breakfast 3 Star hotel or similar

After you arrive in Kathmandu, you’ll be greeted by our representative and he/she will transfer you to a hotel. After rest, we’ll visit the religious temple in Kathmandu and refresh ourselves. We’ll discuss the trek later on in the evening.


Drive 6-7 hrs, Flight 25 min Bed & Breakfast 3 Star hotel or similar

As early rise, we’ll drive towards Pokhara from Kathmandu. You should pack and check all your required materials for the journey before the drive. We’ll stay overnight in Pokhara.


3-4 hrs All meals [Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Tea/Coffee] Tea-House / Lodge

The next morning, our trek continues towards Tikhedhunga. The trail goes through the Bhurundi Khola and then across lush forests. After crossing a bridge over a Modi river, we’ll continue our journey towards Tikhedhunga. We’ll stay overnight in Tikhedhunga.


5-6 hrs All meals [Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Tea/Coffee] Tea-House / Lodge

After an early breakfast, we’ll departure towards Ghorepani. The tail is very steep that leads to Ulleri. Ghorepani was used to be an important village for horse traders. We’ll stay overnight in Ghorepani.


5-6 hrs All meals [Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Tea/Coffee] Tea-House / Lodge

The next morning, we’ll begin our trek with a descent to Sikha village and then to Ghar Khola Village. Crossing the suspension bridge leads us to Tatopani. We’ll stay overnight in Tatopani.


5-6 hrs All meals [Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Tea/Coffee] Tea-House / Lodge

The trek of this day is peaceful along beautiful trail and village. The trail goes by the side of Gandaki River. We’ll trek across the beautiful waterfall, Rupse Chhahara and finally reach to Ghasa. Ghasa is located in the lower part of the Kali Gandaki Valley. The place is warm and green. We’ll stay overnight in Ghasa.


4-5 hrs All meals [Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Tea/Coffee] Tea-House / Lodge

The trek this day towards Marpha goes through Lete Village, Larjung Village and different beautiful apple orchards and vegetable farms. We’ll stay overnight in Marpha.

The next morning, we’ll ascend on a ridge and reach Jomsom. We’ll then hike straight towards Kagbeni. We can get beautiful views of Nilgiri, Dhaulagiri, and Tukuche peaks from Kagbeni. We’ll stay overnight in Kagbeni.


5-6 hrs All meals [Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Tea/Coffee] Tea-House / Lodge

Early in the morning, our trek continues towards Muktinath. The trail goes through a desert land space and Jarkot Village. We’ll stay overnight in a hotel.

Leaving Jomsom, we’ll prepare to trek towards Muktinath. We’ll also visit the monasteries in the Muktinath. After exploring Muktinath, our trek will again continue back to Jomsom. We’ll stay overnight in Jomsom.

The next morning, after early breakfast, we’ll take a flight towards Pokhara. Exploring different tourists’ places in Pokhara will give us awesome feelings. We’ll stay overnight in Pokhara.


Drive 6-7 hrs, Flight 25 min Bed & Breakfast 3 Star hotel or similar

We drive towards Kathmandu early in the morning. After reaching Mugling, we’ll have a lunch break. We’ll stay overnight in Kathmandu.


30 min from hotel to airport Breakfast

Our trek will end on this day. After, packing all the belongings and we’ll prepare for the final departure. A representative will help you to reach your destination.
